12/28/22 – This is a scarce Springfield Armory M2 rifle. The ‘M2’ designation with no ‘1922’ roll mark started in 1933, and this one has a parkerized finish with a barrel date of August of 1942. These were made to mimic the 1903 rifle for training purposes, and chambered in .22LR. The parkerized finish is excellent overall, with minor thinning along the top of the receiver and some discoloration on the bolt handle. Stock is in terrific condition, and also marked ‘M2’ on the underside. Excellent bore. Bolt is marked ‘NS’ over ‘M2’, and the bolt body is also marked ‘M2’.
