08/05/2024 – For sale is a US Model 1863 Rifled Musket made under contract by Samuel Norris and William T. Clement in 1864. To support the production of muskets for the US army. The musket is in excellent condition for its age without any glaring blemishes to note. The metal is well worn and has a nice layer of patina throughout. There are some spots of prickling visible but none of it is deep. The stock is in great condition with no cracks or breaks but there are plenty of spots of wear. there is an inspection cartouche visible on the left side above the trigger. The lock plate is stamped with the US Eagle and “S.N. & W.T.C. For Massachusetts.” The bore has some brightness when shining a light but it is dark at the muzzle. The rifling is visible.
