9/1/21 – This is a very scare Krieghoff Luger issued to the Luftwaffe in early 1936. The serial number is 812 and the features make it a 1st variation which are very scarce and very collectible. The first and most notable feature is the wooden grips. The are unique and only made for Krieghoff. They are not marked inside but the checkering is a little bigger and the grip itself a little wider. Also, it has a type 1 logo and the numbering pattern is also unique to the variation 1. Several examples would be the externally numbered side plate and takedown lever. Also the barrel, hold open and firing pin are correctly NOT numbered but they are HK proofed. All other small parts are also correctly L2 proofed. Even the magazine is matching to the gun. Overall the finish is about 90-92% and all original. Most of the wear in on the grip straps. There is also wear around the high edges, on the barrel, and around the muzzle. Some spotty oxidation in the same areas. Bore is shiny with strong rifling. Overall a very nice example of a rare HK Luger
