5/31/23 – This is a very nice example of a scarce, second variation Remington Rand 1911A1 from 1942-43. It has the proper 2nd variation slide with larger legend, and is in the correct serial range. Correct High Standard barrel. Comes as a rig with a nice leather shoulder holster and three post-war magazines. The gun itself has retained about 93% of its original finish with areas of thinning along the slide, concentrated mostly around the high edges. Some spots of oxidation and discoloration on both sides of the slide as well. Fitted with nice reddish plastic grips. The top screw on the left side has a stripped escutcheon, so it fits a little loose. The bore has great rifling with some very minor frosting in the grooves.
