9/7/22 – This is a gorgeous example of a scarce and early Walther Mod HP. All matching and correct with 98+% of the high-polish blue remaining. Minor edge and muzzle wear, and a tiny bit of pinpricking on the front strap. One of only a few thousand produced, this pistol falls in the range of the 2nd Swedish contract, though the serial is not listed on the manifests. It correctly has unmarked small parts and grips. Rare unmarked commercial magazine. Factory paint on sights is in great shape. The bore has strong rifling but a little frost and freckling throughout. Fully functional, including the de-cocker. No import marks, but this one does have a postwar Eagle/N marking on the underside of the barrel and slide. The frame is marked under the grips with “Prz y” and “9 Pa”, as well as Eagle/N over ‘8-92’. So this one ended up sold commercially in Germany at some point after the war and later came to the states.
