9/19/23 – This is an excellent example of a rare Mauser P.38 rig issued to the Nazi military in 1942. It is a first-year Mauser production, where only 19,000 of these were made, making it only slightly more common than the zero series or Nazi-marked svw 45’s. The pistol is all matching and original with desirable dust blue finished slide. The bluing rates at about 94-95%. There is minor wear around the muzzle and on the high edges of the slide. Very minor thinning and some spotty patina on the front strap. Fitted with excellent period-correct black bakelite grips. The bore has good rifling, but there is pin-pricking throughout. De-cocker is functional. It comes as a rig with a hard shell holster, an “Eagle 135” marked Mauser magazine, and an “Eagle 359” marked Walther magazine.
