7/23/18 – This is a scarce, excellent Marlin Model 39A – second model lever-action rifle. This variation was manufactured in 1941 and is identified by the “B” prefix in the serial and the case colored frame. This rifle is chambered for .22 SL and LR, and retains about 95% original blue with minor muzzle wear and slight thinning on the barrel. The receiver shows a good amount of original case coloring, with minor freckling on the left side. The wood shows minor cosmetic defects but no major cracks or chips. Bore could use a cleaning but has strong rifling and no corrosion. The action is functional but slightly tight.
