11/29/21 – This is an excellent and early Ithaca 1911A1 from 1943. These early Ithaca’s feature a Du-Lite bluing rather than a parkerized finish. This one is original and correct and rates at about 97% with minor high edge wear on slide and frame, and a little thinning on the front strap. Other early features include the cross hatched safety and flaming bomb proofs inside frame and slide. This one has a correct High Standard barrel with strong, shiny bore. Excellent grips. ‘S’ marked magazine. These also were part of a duplicate set of serials as Colt also used numbers 856,101 – 958,100.
