8/12/20 – This is a scarce, early DWM Luger from 1910 with military unit marking on the front strap. There were only 20,000 military produced DWM Lugers that year, and only about 20% of those are estimated to be unit marked. This one has all matching numbers, including the original grips. There’s wear on each side of the muzzle, and more on the sideplate and back of frame. There’s also some oxidation on the straps and right side of pistol. Front strap is unit marked ’77.R.8.2′, which I believe would mean ’77th Infantry, Company 8, Weapon 2. Grips show some smoothing and the left panel has the common safety chip. Bore is fairly worn. There’s some rifling left but frost and freckling throughout. Magazine has imperial marking but otherwise unnumbered.
