5/25/23 – This is a very scarce, unusual example of a Velo-Dog Revolver produced in Germany in the early 1940s. These revolvers were introduced in 1894 by Frenchman René Galand for bicyclists specifically as self defense against dog attacks. The name is a compound word composed of “velocipede” and “dog”. This one was made by Franken & Lunenschloss for commercial use in Nazi Germany, and is marked with commercial crown N. The gun is in fair condition, with most of the finish gone from the frame, and there is spotty discoloration and brown patina throughout. Mechanics are functional and timing is excellent. Bore has strong rifling, but does have some frost in the grooves. Comes with excellent black plastic grips.
