2/28/23 – This is a Colt 1911A1 that was made in 1941 for the US Army. Only ~35,000 produced in 1941, and this is an earlier and more desirable blued example. RS inspector mark on frame with P on slide, barrel and frame. The pistol appears all original as it left the factory, but the slide is serial 728537, while frame is 728542. We believe this to be a factory error of some kind, as the finish is congruent throughout and it seems quite unlikely that these two serials were paired together after the war. It has a proper Colt barrel with large ‘G’ under lug but the bore is quite poor with pitting throughout. Excellent grips with minor handling wear. C-S marked mag. NOTE: We previously sold this gun a few years back with a Colt letter, which is shown in the photos but is NOT included with the listing as the seller lost it.
