2/24/22 – This is an all matching and original Arisaka Type 2 Paratrooper Carbine from WW2. It’s all correct, but the mum was ground following the war. These were exclusively made at Nagoya Arsenal, with only ~19,000 produced. Receiver shows patina and visible oxidation throughout. Excellent chrome-lined bore. The takedown mechanism is also all matching, and correctly not matching to the serial of the receiver as these were numbered separately. Receiver also features Kanji denoting it is a “Type II” rifle. Original cleaning rod and aircraft sights are present. Stock has an interesting “tiger stripe” pattern on the left side that appears deliberately applied as the texture is rougher on the stripes. Right side of stock has an area with a surface crack/splintering.
