11/7/22 – This is a very nice example of a scarce AC 45 Walther P.38 issued to the Nazi military in 1945. What makes this one scarce is the capital “A” suffix on the frame and locking block. Only about 5,000 guns feature this oddity. It is believed that, for a short period of time in 1945, the lower case “a” die was broken or unavailable, so the Walther factory was forced to use the capital “A”. This one is all matching and has the proper “Eagle 359” military acceptance proofs throughout. We believe the finish has been professionally restored. There are areas of minor spotty, scratchy wear along the left side of the barrel, on the underside of the trigger guard, and toward the front ends of both sides of the slide. Comes with very nice dark brown bakelite grips and a refinished jvd magazine. Minty bore. De-cocker is functional.
