11/23/22 – This is a very nice example of a scarce “243” Code Mauser K98 rifle issued to the Nazi military in 1939. The gun is entirely matching except for the bolt. It has the proper Nazi military acceptance proofs throughout. Both the stock and handguard are numbered on the inside and matching. Faint waffen proofs on the wrist and right side of the butt stock. Overall, the gun is in very nice condition, retaining about 91-92% of its bluing. Very minor wear around the high edges in general and areas of minor wear around the muzzle and on both barrel bands. Some minor spotty wear on the floor plate / trigger group. Noticeable pitting and oxidation on the butt plate. The stock has no major damage, but there are dings and light scratches throughout, most noticeable on the butt stock. The bore has good rifling, but there is some light frosting in the grooves.
