6/18/24 – This is an excellent example of a Colt Model 1911A1 issued to the US military in 1942. Only about 100,000 were produced that year, compared to over 750,000 in 1943. The slide is numbered and matching. It is “United States Property” marked and has “WB” inspector initials. Correct “Colt 45 Auto” barrel with a large “G” under the lug. It comes with a Colt Factory Letter. The gun has retained about 96% of its original finish with just hints of high edge wear, minor muzzle wear, and some very minor thinning on the front strap. Fitted with period-correct reddish-brown plastic grips and comes with a proper “S” marked magazine. Very nice bore.
