11/20/19 – This is a hard to find 1917 Navy DWM Luger, one of only 15,000 of these 1914 variation Lugers produced in 1917, and this one falls in the proper serial range. The gun is all matching numbers except for the grips and magazine. The grips are unnumbered but do appear original to the gun, and the left panel has the common chip under the safety. The magazine is mismatched but is an early example with the sideways numbering. The bluing rates at 90+% but does have some patina coming through and some notable pinpricking along the barrel. Bore is shiny with strong rifling, but a little frost. Excellent straw on small parts.
