8/17/22 – This is an original WW2 production German SA Dagger with an original scabbard and leather hanger. The dagger blade is maker stamped “Carl Aug. Meis G.M.B.H.”, which is a somewhat uncommon maker. The blade is unsharpened and shows some spotty oxidation and surface discoloration on both sides of the blade. The maker-stamped side has the majority of the wear, but there is mild speckling throughout the blade as shown. The hand guard and pommel both have mild patina but are in great condition overall. The hand guard is SA Gruppe stamped “Wm”. The wood handle has a minor chip at the base where the wood meets the handguard. There are also various small hairline cracks in the wood handle, but these are mostly small cracks. The scabbard is brown anodized metal and has thinning to the original finish along with some surface discoloration and a few mild dings in the metal, but no major dents. The two leather hanging tabs are in great condition despite some mild surface wear.
