5/25/23 – This is an original WW2 production SA Dagger manufactured by Arthur Schuttelhofer & Co (ASSO). This example is in great overall condition with a very nice blade that shows cross-graining throughout. There are some mild surface scratches near the edges and typical scabbard rub wear. There’s also some very light speckling discoloration, but these areas are relatively small. The cross guards are early solid nickel and shiny with only mild surface scratches and light patina. The backside of the lower cross guard is Gruppe marked “Ns”. The handle has a few small chips in the wood, mostly near the pommel on the backside. No cracks in the wood. Comes with an early style anodized scabbard that has dark speckling patina throughout and some mild finish loss. Also comes with an unmarked, period correct hanger.
