5/6/24 – This is an original WW2 SS Officer’s Dagger. The dagger comes with an original black painted scabbard. The dagger has a clear motto inscription on one side of the blade, and the other side is marked with “RZM” and “SS” logos, and an etched maker code “1211/39” for E. Pack & Sohne. The markings are correct for a wartime production example. The blade shows cross-graining and typical scabbard rub wear and micro-scratches throughout. The cross guards are steel, magnetic wartime examples with light surface wear and mild scratches. The wood handle has some thinning to the black dyed finish, and the backside has two small hairline cracks in the wood. The grip is completely intact however with no chips. The handle and cross guards have minor wiggle or “play” and are an imperfect fit on the blade, which typically means these were replaced or late-war production where production standards were lower. Priced accordingly. The scabbard has light surface wear but is in great overall condition. There’s a hanger clip attached to the scabbard that’s RZM maker stamped.
