8/9/22 – This is a scarce, non-import Russian SVT-40 that was made in 1940 at the Tula factory. It was not arsenal refinished or renumbered, but is SA marked indicating it went to Finland. The original finish is somewhat worn on bolt, receiver and barrel. Mismatched magazine that is also SA marked. Stock shows it’s age and has various dings but no cracks or structural issues. Letter ‘F’ is carved on the left side for unknown reason, and the original Russian factory/inspection markings are partially visible on the right side. Bore has strong rifling but frost throughout and is very dirty and in need of a thorough cleaning. Our consignor shot this one several times and said it runs smoothly and is incredibly accurate.
