11/1/22 – This is an excellent example of a Russian Naval Officer’s dagger from 1985. The double-edged blade is in excellent condition. There are no signs of sharpening of either edge and no signs of wear. The left-hand ricasso features serial number “176101” and the right-hand ricasso features a hand-etched Pegasus symbol, some Russian writing, and “1985”. The hilt is in overall great condition but shows minor use wear here and there throughout the handguard and metal fittings of the hilt. The hilt’s fittings are a little loose, most likely due to natural shrinking in the wooden handle. There is a Russian insignia under the pommel and a five-pointed star on the pommel’s top. The original scabbard is in excellent condition. The black leather and gold plated metal are both in excellent condition. There are minor signs of use throughout the scabbard but no notable blemishes or defects.
