11/7/23 – This is a clean example of a German K98k that was captured, reworked, and reissued to Soviet troops. The Soviets would refinish the stock and wood of captured rifles and reissue them. The metal on the rifle retains its Russian black paint refinish with no active pitting or corrosion. The laminate stock has a reddish finish to it which is normal for Russian capture Mausers. The receiver and the stock are matching and there is no serial number on the bolt. The bore is very bright with sharp rifling.
