5/9/22 – This is a nice example of an interesting “VOPO” Luger rig. Originally manufactured in the 1920’s, It was reworked by and issued to the East German police after WW2. These are often known as “VOPO” Lugers. It is mismatched, many of the parts have been re-numbered to match frame, and it was refinished at the arsenal. Also at the police arsenal, the gun was given a set of post war grips, and two matching magazines. It comes with a post-war black leather P.38 holster. The gun has retained roughly 80-85% of its bluing. Most of the finish loss is on the grip straps. There are also some light scratches on the left side of the gun. The bore has good rifling, but there is lightly frosting in the grooves.
