3/21/24 – This is an excellent example of an arsenal reworked 1911A1 from WW2. The frame was made by Colt and dates to 1945. “GHD” inspector proof and cross-canon cartouche. The slide was made by Ithaca. Modern replacement barrel. It has retained nearly all of its parkerized finish with just very light surface scuffs. Excellent bore. Fitted with WW2-era reddish plastic grips and comes with a reproduction magazine. This particular pistol was still being used by used by the US military after the war, from 1989-2019. It comes with a FOIA letter detailing this gun’s military history.
