6/27/24 – This is an excellent example of a Remington Rand Model 1911A1 issued to the US military in 1943. It is “United States Property” marked, has a cross-cannon military cartouche, and has the proper “FJA” inspector initials. This one also has a scarce 2nd variation slide and is in the proper serial range for this variation. Correct HS barrel. The gun comes as a rig with one period-correct “R” marked magazine and a nice reproduction leather holster. It has retained about 95% of its finish with some minor thinning on the front strap. We believe the slide has been refinished – there are a few tiny pits under the finish on the right side. The barrel is parkerized. Fitted with correct reddish plastic grips. Mint bore.
