2/5/24 – This is an excellent example of a Remington Model 1917 rifle issued to the US military during WW1. The barrel is marked Remington and dated 9-18. The bolt is also Remington marked. The stock is “Eagle Head” military proofed and has a “W” marking for Winchester. The finish on the metal parts rates about 93-94% with general high edge wear, some thinning on the rear barrel band, and some spotty brown patina on the floor plate. Very nice wood furniture with the typical signs of wear and use. The bore has good rifling, but there is pin-pricking throughout.
