4/12/22 – This is an original WW1 era production Remington model 1917 bayonet. These bayonets were used with Enfield rifles and M1903 rifles during WW1 & WW2. These also are used with the coveted trench and riot Winchester shotguns. This example has a very nice blade that despite some mild spotty surface discoloration, is in excellent overall condition. No signs of sharpening. Maker stamped and dated on one side of the ricasso, while the reverse is ordnance stamped as shown. The metal hilt has some mild surface wear but no rust or pitting. The wood handle has a few minor dings but no cracks or chips. Comes with an original scabbard that has a “K.K.D.” maker stamp on the back. The metal on the backside of the scabbard has “R/17 I” written in black pen.
