10/17/24 – This is a great example of a WW1 Mills Bomb made by JP&S. The Mills Bomb was the standard grenade of the British armed forces and saw widespread service during both the first and second world wars. The Mills Bomb was in service with other countries all the way up until 2021. This example was made by JP&S in 1917 and is stamped with both the manufacturers name and date on the body of the grenade. The grenade has a shellac finish on it, which is original to the grenade and was added on to them in an effort to better waterproof the grenades for the conditions in the trenches. The grenade is in overall great condition for its age.
