10/29/24 – This is a scarce Navy 1934 Mauser. It is a variation 4 Navy 1934, meaning that it has the closed wing eagle on the right side of the frame, but no property mark on the front strap. There were only an estimated 6,000 of this variation procured, in the serial range 544390-627788. It comes as a rig with two proper “Mauser” marked magazines and a very nice Navy-style holster (there appears to be a faint swastika and M stamp on the back. The gun itself has retained about 95% of its original high polish finish with minor high edge and muzzle wear (most noticeable on the left side) and a small area of wear on the front strap. Excellent wood grip. The bore has good rifling, but there is light pin-pricking throughout.
