The Marines designated these rifles as the “1952 Sniper Rifle” and issued them is limited numbers from c.1954-1967. Scope is marked ‘4X DOUBLE SMITH MOUNTS’ over ‘KOLLMORGEN OPTICAL CORP’. The letters/numbers ‘MC 1196′ are also hand etched on the side of the scope. The First Style MC-1 mount is parkerized and has distinctive angular locking levers. Stock is in excellent condition and has late-war Springfield inspection cartouch. Barrel is dated to August of 1951. Minty bore, ME & TE are both under 2. Comes with canvas sling.
