3/11/24 – This is one of the rarest WW2 era carbine variations – the Un-Quality M1. A portion of Quality Hardware’s contract was sub-contracted to Union Switch & Signal, where receivers were produced and given the name ‘Un-quality’. These are only found from serials 4,432,XXX to 4,532,XXX. This one is in the correct serial range. It is mostly correct, but some of the small parts have been replaced – a full parts list with markings is included in the photos. There is a BA-BD marking on the wrist of the stock, which would would indicate it was likely reworked at the Benicia Arsenal. The flip-up rear sight is slightly bent. There is not much actual finish loss on the metal parts, but there is noticeable spotty oxidation along the barrel. Very nice wood stock. Comes with one magazine, canvas sling, and oiler. Mint bore.
