12/19/22 – This is a rare transitional Colt 1911 that was manufactured in 1924. Fewer than 10,000 Colt 1911s were made that year, and they are known to have transitional features from the 1911 to the 1911A1. The pistol is matching and original aside from a Springfield replacement barrel. The finish is original but worn throughout, most notably on the front strap. It’s difficult to rate in general as there’s also patina mixed within the original blued finish. Comes with an original two-tone mag, and nice wood grips. Shiny bore with minor frost in the grooves.
