1/24/22 – This is one of the finest examples we’ve seen of the iconic MP40 submachine gun, as made by Steyr in 1943. The MP-40 was the successor to the MP-38 model. Both were intended to be compact bust fire power weapons especially suited for dismounted vehicle troops but was issued in ever increasing numbers to troops of all kinds. It is slow firing, comfortable to shoot, durable, with readily available parts. This particular example is all matching numbers throughout except for the firing pin. The original finish is excellent, with minor bluing loss in a few areas but no major areas of wear and no pitting. WaA623 proofs found all over this one. Shoulder stock employs properly and quite tight when extended. Strong, shiny bore with only minor signs of use. Receiver is ’43 dated with ‘bnz’ maker code. This weapon is fully transferable on ATF form 3 or form 4 as C&R eligible.
