2/4/22 – This is a beautiful example of an original Colt 1911A1 from 1940. One of only 4,696 produced in 1940, this one is correct throughout with about 96% of the original Colt blue remaining. Most notable bluing loss is on the left side of the slide toward the muzzle. There’s also a minor surface scuff on the right side of the slide, but this is a primo example and this is just to point out any flaws at all. Slide serial matches frame. Proper CSR inspector mark on frame, with P proof on slide and frame. Correct Colt barrel with large ‘G’ under lug. Bore has good rifling but freckling through the grooves. Blued Colt mag that is marked ‘COLT .45 AUTO’ on the base. Nice grips with minor smoothing to the checkering but no cracks.
