12/13/22 – This is an original TeNo Enlisted Man’s Hewer by Carl Eickhorn. These were worn by TeNo (Technical Emergency Corp.) officers who were assigned to assisting the population during times of crisis and disaster via natural catastrophes. This example is in excellent condition with a very clean blade and original matching numbered scabbard. The blade is clean and doesn’t show signs of use or sharpening. There is some dark speckling and oxidation scattered throughout the blade however. The leather stopper is still intact. The base of the blade is numbered 4761 on one side, and maker stamped by Carl Eickhorn on the other. The hand guard has excellent detail and shows normal patina and finish loss, but some of the original finish still remains within the smaller crevasses around the eagle. The grip panels have no cracks or chips, but there is some mild wear and a scratch in the top left corner of the front-facing grip panel. The pommel has some mild surface patina but no rust or pitting. The mouth of the scabbard is matching numbered to the blade. The scabbard shows some mild exterior scuffing and surface patina but most of the original paint is in excellent condition.
