9/25/24 – This is a rare military 1911, made at Springfield Armory. Issued to the US military during WWI. One of only ~30k produced at Springfield for WW1. The left side of the frame is “United States Property” marked. It also has flaming bomb military proofs on the left side of the slide and frame, with the distinct Springfield Eagle seal on the right side of the slide. All original “S” marked parts, except for the thumb safety which is un-marked. The finish rates roughly 85%. The majority of the finish loss is on the back strap, but there is also spotty wear on both sides of the slide. Fitted with period-correct wood grips and comes with a proper two-tone magazine. The bore has good rifling, but there is some fouling in the grooves.
