3/21/18 – This is a very scarce variation of Mauser Broomhandle Large Ring hammer pistol, made in 1902-1903, that features “shallow milled” panels on both sides of the frame. Only a couple thousand of this variation were made, and all fall in 30xxx- 33xxx serial range. This particular gun is all matching, including all the internal parts, grips and the shoulder stock. The gun is all original and retains around 97% of its beautiful early blue, with just minimal wear, mainly from being carried inside the shoulder stock. There is no pitting anywhere. Excellent bore and grips. Bright fireblue is present on the safety, extractor, bolt stop and the rear sight cursor. The gun has a scarce “Von Lengerke and Detmold, New York” inscription on the left side of the frame – a company that was the sole distributor of the C96 Mauser in US at that time. The shoulder stock has original varnish with just a tiny stable hairline crack in the stock body. Aside from handling wear, we can find no other defects.
