11/29/22 – This is a nice example of a rare Sauer Behorden pistol. This is a Sauer Model 1913 issued to the Nazi-era Prussian State Police. This is evidenced by the “Star K” police marking on the left side of the trigger guard. This was the last iteration of this pistol before they switched over to the 38h. They were marketed to and almost exclusively sold to Nazi-era police organizations. They had added safety features, such as the additional trigger safety, making them appealing for police. Very few of these guns were produced. This one is all matching and comes as a rig with a 1936-dated black leather police-style holster and two proper magazines (not numbered). The gun itself has retained roughly 80% of its original high polish finish. The majority of the finish loss comes in the form of obvious wear along both sides of the slide, where there is also some very light spotty oxidation. Minor thinning and brown patina on both grip straps. Comes with nice period-correct black bakelite grips. Very nice bore with good rifling.
