3/9/22 – This is a super rare Navy G Date Luger, one of only about 700 produced, according to Jan Still’s Axis Pistols. This pistol is N property marked and Jan Still states that most of the G Date Lugers were N property marked. It has the correct Type 2 Navy marking on the strap. It is all matching and has the proper G Date military proofs on the right side of the slide. The gun has retained about 85% of its original finish. Most of the finish loss is on both grip straps, where there is also some light brown patina. There is also wear on the side plate, on the side rails, and around the muzzle. There are some light scratches on the barrel and left side of the frame. Comes with excellent un-numbered wood grips (tiny chip in the top corner of the left panel), and a period-correct but mismatched Navy property-marked magazine. The bore has good rifling, but there is light freckling throughout.
