2/28/23 – This is an all matching and original example of a very rare Walther P.38 variation from 1945, one of only 1,800 produced. We’ve seen these referred to as zero series or zero-prefix Walther P.38s, but Krutzek’s P.38 book states this is the last Mod. HP variation. It features two inspection marks on the right side of the slide as it used ‘ac 45’ slides but serializing continued from where Mod. HP production ended. The zero was added to distinguish from the commercial production that preceded it. The pistol is in excellent condition, with about 98% of the original blue remaining. Just a tiny bit of handling wear on the front strap. Bore has strong rifling but a little frost in the grooves. Minty grips.
