7/13/23 – This is a rare and early Mauser K98 that was made in 1935, at a time when the Germans were still hiding military small arms production in accordance with the Treaty of Versailles. The rifle is all original with matching parts throughout. The matching numbered parts include the stock and handguard, bands, bayo lug, trigger housing, floorplate, baseplate, rear sight assembly, full bolt assembly, buttplate even down to the screws. The bluing on the rifle is original throughout, but shows obvious thinning on much of the rifle, with most of the remaining blue found on the receiver. The stock is in good condition, with minor dings and nicks in a few areas, but has been lightly sanded at some point. While it has been sanded, the markings are generally still clearly visible, including the serial number. Bore is shiny with strong rifling.
