12/26/23 – This is a rare Luftwaffe issued survival machete from WW2. This example is in minty condition, and one of the nicest you’ll find on today’s market. The blade is bright and clean throughout with some mild surface scratches and micro-scratches throughout each side. The edge shows signs of sharpening but is clean with no visible nicks or dents. Maker stamped AWS Alcosa on one side of the blade, near the cross guard. The maker marking is faint yet still visible. The cross guard and handle display beautiful original bluing throughout with some light speckling patina mixed in. The wood handles have some scratches (2 which appear intentional) but are in great overall condition. Also comes with a minty scabbard and canvas frog. A beautiful piece of history.
