3/23/17 – Wonder how many of you have seen a gun like this?  These are extremely rare, “odd ball” guns, and I will share what I think is true but open to others who might know more. These are often referred to as AC frame guns, due to the AC on the frame.  I assume these were Walther “armorers replacement” frames that were used as field replacements for damaged guns. I also assume the Mauser factory had some in the factory to rebuild damaged guns.   At the end of the war, these “parts” were put together to make guns.  This gun has no “original” serial numbers. The frame, slide, barrel and locking block are not numbered.  However, there is a newer electro- penciled number on the parts most likely done by European or American authorities.   So for example:  if a soldier brought it home and decided to register it at some point (to be legal) many states would require a serial be put on it.  I would guess that is what happened here. The grips are the typical late war Mauser style.   The barrel is CYQ and Eagle 88 marked.   The slide is WaA359 marked and the frame is 359 marked.   YES, this gun hits the TRIFECTA!  The magazine is Eagle 135 proofed and the magazine also has some dings on the spine.  The bore is MIRROR.  When will you find one like this again?
