5/30/23 – This is a nice example of a rare, Navy-issued 1937 Mauser Luger. This is the second rarest Nazi Navy contract with only about 500 made, only the K Date Navy is rarer. It is all matching, has the proper “Eagle 63” military acceptance proofs, and has an “O. 2990” Navy property marking on the front strap. There is a faint “CIP N” marking on the left side of the toggle, only visible when the toggle is in the “up” position. This marking is also found on the barrel (shown in photos). The gun itself has retained about 94% of its original bluing. There is minor thinning on the front strap and minor wear around the muzzle and on some of the high edges. While there is not much actual finish loss, there is light spotty oxidation throughout, most noticeable on the grip straps. Fitted with excellent, matching-numbered wood grips. Comes with a mismatched police arsenal-numbered magazine. The bore has good rifling, but there is light pin-pricking in the grooves.
