06/24/2024 – For sale is a German Drilling made by JP Sauer & Sohn in 1941 for the Luftwaffe. This is a combination gun with a double barrel 12 gauge on top with a 9.3x74r rifled barrel attached on the bottom. The Drilling overall is in great condition but there is a sealed 3″ crack coming from the tang on the left side. The barrel has a nice military finish bluing with a good bit of wear towards the lug from the hinging action when you open the action. The barrels are marked as made by Krupp. The shotgun barrels are stamped 12 with an Eagle/N and the rifled barrel is stamped 9.3x74r and also an Eagle/N. The lug itself has a Luftwaffe Eagle stamp. There is also a 1941 stamp. On the right barrel on the right side is a Luftwaffe Eagle stamp. The receiver has a nice case-hardened finish. The barrels, receiver, trigger guard, and fore-end are matching. The fore-end is in great condition and free of cracks. The social security number of a previous owner is e-penciled into the barrel and forend. The bore of each barrel is mirror bright and the rifled barrel has sharp rifling. The stock has been sanded but there is a very faint mark of a Luftwaffe Eagle on the right side. The drilling comes with its original transit case with a sling, cleaning rod, an original manual, and 2 ten round boxes of original 9.3x74r rounds made by DWM. The leather handle is torn but there is a Luftwaffe Eagle stamped above it.
