4/3/24 – This is a very rare and desirable FN Browning High Power that was part of a very small Finnish contract. Per Vanderlinden’s book on FN pistols, Finland used nearly every FN handgun over the years in their attempts to defend themselves against their Russian neighbors. With the outbreak of the Winter War, Finland requested a supply of High Powers with shoulder-stocks on a short schedule. Only ~2,400 such examples were shipped, all in serial range 11,000-15,000. This pistol is in the proper serial range. Finnish “SA” marking on the right side of the frame. It is all matching. The original finish rates about 95% with general high edge wear, some light scratches here and there, and dulling on the grip straps. Fitted with proper wood grips – the colors don’t match each other. The bore has good rifling for the most part, but there are some pits in the grooves.
