1/20/23 – This is a very rare and desirable FN Browning High Power that was part of a very small Finnish contract. Per Vanderlinden’s book on FN pistols, Finland used nearly every FN handgun over the years in their attempts to defend themselves against their Russian neighbors. With the outbreak of the Winter War, Finland requested a supply of High Powers with shoulder-stocks on a short schedule. Only ~2,400 such examples were shipped, all in serial range 11,000-15,000. This pistol is in the proper serial range and is marked N6 on the right side of the trigger guard. This gun is not ‘SA’ marked but it is a common misconception that it should be, whereas Vanderlinden estimates 50-60% were not ‘SA’ marked. This pistol is matching throughout with terrific bluing. The left grip panel has some handling wear but the grips have no cracks or chips. Bore has strong rifling but some minor frost throughout.
