7/25/23 – This is one of the finest known examples of the ultra rare J.S.B. inspected Colt 1911A1. Those initials stand for John S. Begley, who inspected only the very last WW2 military examples produced. It’s estimated that only ~2,000 were produced with his inspector’s mark and these have a low survival rate. This particular example also happens to be in exception conditional, with very minor hints of high edge wear. The correct barrel is present, with P proof on one side of the lug and square C marking on the other side. Minty grips and unmarked magazine. Minty bore. Comes with Colt archives letter that state it was shipped on September 6th, 1945.
