11/18/20 – This is a set of rare and excellent Police Mauser P.38s from 1944 with Eagle/L proofs on each slide. These pistols have consecutive serial numbers, a rare find in general, and especially given only 4,600 of this variation were ever produced, and only 3,200 of that in 1944. Both pistols are all matching and original. Both have mint bores and excellent reddish grips. Serial 1467 is minty with 98+% of the blue remaining, just a hint of high point wear and dulling of the front strap. Serial 1468 has about 95-96% of the original blue with most of the thinning on the front strap, but there is minor freckling in a couple areas on the slide. Overall, both of these rare pistols are in excellent condition and you likely won’t see a similar offering any time soon.
