11/1/24 – This is a very nice example of a Colt US single action artillery model. The action is tight as a drum and works perfectly on all 4 clicks. The frame is “US” property marked with various mixed military numbers. “P”, “HN” inspection stamps. The bottom edges of both grip panels are marked “RAC”. The right grip panel has a visible military inspection cartouche and is dated 1903. Overall, it is in very nice condition for its age, but we believe it has an old re-blued finish with case-hardening on the frame. There is some thinning and minor discoloration along the barrel and some areas of pin-pricking here and there – most noticeable on the cylinder. The grips show minor bruising throughout with a tiny chip on the bottom edge of the right side. Very nice bore with good rifling.
